Maison Carrée Table 80Th Anniversary, Artek
Maison Carrée Table 80th anniversary, ARTEK
The Maison Louis Carré Table was designed by Alvar in 1958 for the private home of French art dealer and collector Louis Carré. The maison itself is the only remaining building designed by Aalto in France – and is notable for his design omniscience as architect, interior designer and furniture designer. One of the custom-made pieces was an elegant side table with a low, organically shaped top. What set it apart from Aalto’s other furniture designs was its fan-shaped X-leg – the third type of leg he created for Artek, following his earlier L-leg and Y-leg designs.
